Meet the mypetstop® Leeds dog training team
Donna – Agility trainer.

Donna has been involved in dog training for the past eight years when she got her first dog, a boxer called Storm.  When Storm was 12 weeks old Donna was advised that he would become a dangerous dog and that he should be re-homed to someone who would make him do as he was told.  It was because of this comment that Donna became interested in positive training methods.  Using reward based training Storm passed his Bronze level of the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme.

In addition to Storm, Donna has two other dogs in her life Cade a boxer and Dudley a Dalmatian.  With her dogs Donna has been involved with several dog training disciplines including flyball, breed showing and agility.  In addition all her dogs have achieved success in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme.  Cade has his gold award and Dudley has his silver and his currently working towards his gold level.

Donna is currently studying Canine Behaviour and Training at foundation degree level and is due to start her third and final year at Bishop Burton College.

Carri – Dog trainer

Although only 23, Carri has worked with dogs since the age of 14 where she began her career working in a grooming parlour.  At the age of 18 Carri travelled to Italy to take up the role of dog aupair, where she looked after 30 dogs in a home environment and assisted in the showing of international champions.  Carri has worked at mypetstop® for 2½ years and enjoys all aspects of dog training.

Over the past 9 years Carri has gained a great deal of knowledge and experience.   She is always keen to extend her knowledge and has a BTEC National diploma in animal management.  In her spare time Carri is currently studying for a Foundation Degree in Canine Behaviour and Training.

Carri has two dogs, Brodie a collie cross that she has trained to competition standard in agility and Kiwi an Australian Shepherd who she is planning on doing heelwork to music with.

Wendy – Behaviourist and Trainer

Wendy is the newest member of the mypetstop® Leeds dog training team, bringing with her a wealth of experience.  Wendy has had dogs all her life, with her passion for training and behaviour beginning when her German Shepherd developed serious behavioural problems that did not respond to traditional methods.  Consequently Wendy looked for alternative techniques and retrained her dog using positive reinforcement.  Since that time Wendy has studied extensively with a variety of people and is a member of the Institute for Animal Care Education and an Animal Communicator.

Wendy has worked as a full time dog trainer and behaviourist for the past nine years and has trained for competitive obedience, agility and has completed successfully in heelwork to music.  Also she trained her own dog for assistance work and as a Pets As Therapy dog and has trained her own dog who is blind.

Danielle – Dog trainer

Danielle, aged 19, has worked at mypetstop for 2 years, originally working as a pet carer and now as trainee dog trainer. She is currently studying at Park Lane College in Leeds for a Foundation degree in Animal Health & Welfare, which she manages to fit in around her work at mypetstop!

Danielle says she enjoys learning about dog behaviour and training, and in particular the opportunity she is given during her working day to put that and what she learns at college into practice. Doggy Day Camp in particular has been enjoyable for Dani, as she relishes the challenge of understanding the pack dynamics of the dogs playing during the day while their owners are at work. Dani says of Doggy Day Camp, “I really love the time I spend running Doggy Day Camp, the diversity of dogs I oversee is varied and it’s just so much fun being with them while they’re running around burning off steam”.

Long term Dani hopes to become a full time dog trainer with mypetstop.
