Swimming and Hydrotherapy

Part of our facilities at mypetstop Leeds and Manchester is the fully equipped hydrotherapy unit.  A proven method of helping dogs recover from injury or illness and a unique form of concentrated, low impact exercise.

Dogs can swim just for fun, or dogs with medical or mobility problems can benefit by undertaking exercise without putting additional stress or strain on the body (in the way land based exercise would do).

There are few places that offer hydrotherapy sessions.  During each session dogs are assisted into the pool via the ramp.  The pool itself is 4 ft deep and heated to a temperature that is nice and warm.  All dogs wear a life jacket and are generally attached to a pole or tri-rope to maximise the Swimming and Hydrotherapy in either our Leeds or Manchester centrepotential benefits by preventing them from swimming in circles which can weaken their knees.

For stronger swimmers or to burn off excess energy controllable jets are available.  All dogs showered and towel dried afterwards

We are members of the Canine Hydrotherapy Association and follow all their guidelines to maintain high standards.

Many of our hydrotherapy customers are those recommended by their own vets for treatment and of our Hydrotherapy team members are all practised in dealing with specialised cases.

There are three different options available- fun swims, medical swim and puppy swims. All are held by our trained hydrotherapist in our purpose built swimming pool and all pets are provided with a life-jacket to ensure their safety in the pool.
